How to use the DATE function

Returns the number that represents the date in Excel date-time code

In our example the year has been entered in column D, the month in column C and the day in Column B

Enter the following DATE function in cell E3 : =DATE(D3,C3,B3)

The date can now be formatted in either the short or long date format as required.
